Spring 2015 – “Social Justice in Israel and Palestine” with Rabbi Andrew Sacks

For the fifth annual Social Justice Lecture Jerusalem’s Rabbi Andrew Sacks, a long-time activist at the forefront of human rights struggles in Israel and Palestine, working toward social and political equality irrespective of ethnicity, gender, nationality, religion, and sexual orientation. An active supporter of Rabbis for Human Rights, Women of the Wall, and the Jerusalem Open House, Sacks’ understanding of Jewish law demands a Judaism that is inclusive of all humanity, regardless of identity.

This Swig Program in Jewish Studies and Social Justice event is co-sponsored by the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, and Program in Middle Eastern Studies.
