The article, If Cant were a New York Cycler, reminded me of my investigation for my S2 experiment. It reminded me of my S2 project because while I was out in the field collecting data, I saw a majority of cyclists slow down and ride through stop signs. The cyclists were sure to see that there were no cars or pedestrians crossing before they themselves crossed. Although it is rule-breaking, they did it as safe as they possibly could.
The article, Is it O.K to Kill Cyclists, mentions a cyclist’s death in SoMa. I remembered Maelynne talking about how SoMa is one of the most dangerous places to bike in San Francisco. Reading about a news article on Amelie Le Moullac death in SoMa and how the driver was not held responsible angered me. People should be held accountable for their actions.
