In the Ted Talk ” Simon Schocken: What a Bike Ride Can Teach You”, the speaker Simon Schocken generally speaks about the lessons and feelings/emotions that can be learned/sensed while riding a bicycle, which is also similar to Bill Strickland’s Essay and reminded me of some of his main points from “What Every Kid Wants”.

Simon Schocken talked about how he worked with juvenile teenagers from all over and took them to go mountain biking. He talks about how in the first month it was difficult because the kids would give up but then eventually they would learn love, focus, perseverance, and tolerance from biking.

Schocken started to used evidence within the first minute of his speech with a photo. He made a smooth transition talking about himself, the emotions he feels that come with bicycling and then showing a photo of kids who ride with Schocken and says, “You can see my fellow riders at the end of the picture, looking at me with some concern. And here is another picture of them. Unfortunately, I cannot show their faces, neither can I disclose their true names, and that’s because my fellow riders are juvenile inmates, offenders spending time in a correction facility about 20 minutes’ ride from here — well, like everything in Israel (0:11)”. He often uses images throughout his talk and refers to them as evidence that he has actually worked with these kids and biked around.
