Nursing Students changing the world …. from Washington D.C.!

One of the most rewarding aspects of our work is to experience our students’ professional growth. Dean Eileen fry-Bowers shared, I had the pleasure of joining these five prelicensure nursing students for the AACN Student Policy Summit in Washington, D.C:

USF SONHP is changing the world’s health from the nation’s capital! Students learned from leading nurses in policy, ranging from experienced fellows of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellowship program to the Director of the National Institute for Nursing Research to Congressional staff.

    From the East Coast to the West Coast, our schools are making connections with the nation’s capital! The University of Detroit Mercy hosted U.S. Representative Shri Thanedar for a campus visit; the Georgetown University Law Center launched a Capitol Hill Fellowship program for recent graduates; several University of San Francisco students recently lobbied for nursing education during the annual meeting of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing in Washington, D.C.; and a team of Gonzaga University students traveled to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National Debate Tournament.
