Meaning of Name Assignment

My parents gave me the name when I was born, Zhiheng Wang(王志恒). In China,  We put the last name in front of the first name. So, let me start with my last name. Wang is a very ancient name and Wang surname is one of the top ten Chinese surnames in the world. Zhiheng comes from two Chinese characters Zhi and Heng. Zhi means ambitious and Heng means concentrated. I’m the youngest child in my family, so my family has great expectations one me. That’s my name came from.

In middle school, my teacher recognized my name as 桓 instead of 恒, which causes the laugh of the whole class.

When I’m in the US, I realized my name is not easy to pronounce. And my oral English teacher in China gave every student an English name to call us. At first, I got the name Christopher, but I didn’t remember how to spell it. So I just write Chris. My tutor told me it is the same as Christopher.
