S2 Reflection Post

After today’s speech I feel that I was well prepared. I wasn’t as anxious as I usually am before presenting and I felt confident about what I was going to talk about, especially after going over my speech with my roommate almost a hundred times. I also managed to memorize my speech and didn’t rely on any sort of device or notecard which was a goal that I had in mind from the previous module. Although I felt that I did fairly well on my presentation, there are still improvements I think I could have made. I did a minor mistake presenting one of my slides that might have made things unclear and I messed up on my sentence. I also felt like I was rushing to make under 4 minutes, which while practicing and timing myself I had to rush to put all my content in so that’s why I sped up my pace, but it also made my presentation seem like everything was just being thrown out there very fast. For next time, I want to work on slowing down the pace of the information I present and also cutting down to my main and important parts that I should point out. Of each of my other classmate’s speeches I thought that everyone did a great job at presenting today, and I can see that most people improved from the last speech. I also liked the way Koko’s slides were set up and how minimal it was and how when he wanted to compare both images of San Francisco and New York it was easy  for him to just go back and forth between the two making it a pretty well prepared presentation.

This was the slide that I felt I didn’t do so well at explaining because there was a lot to talk about that went on after I took these photos and I wasn’t so clear and concise. Hopefully, next time I will be able to slow down my pace and be more clear in my presentation.

*QUICK RE-EDIT

I also realized that during  my speech I stayed in one spot most of the time and didn’t use much of the space around me while presenting which is what I had done well last time in the speech. I also felt like my speech could have used more structure although the timeline I guess I would say of my speech seemed organized.
